Today we drove to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Our first stop in Ft. Worth was at the Tesla Service Center. We wanted to make sure that there was no damage to the undercarriage by the board that took out the tires. Also, the switch on the steering wheel for "voice activation" wasn't working and needed to be replaced. We also did a full wheel alignment since I was afraid that the board screwed things up.
The Tesla folks gave us a loaner Model 3. We went to lunch at a good BBQ restaurant and to the Apple store at a nearby shopping center. I was concerned about the battery life of my iPhone 12. The battery was at 83% of its capacity. Had it been 79% or less, my AppleCare policy would have provided me with a free replacement. I thought about spending $90 to get a new battery and just about traded it in for an iPhone 14 using a great deal from AT&T. When we tried to do that, the deal didn't work, which is a good thing. If I want a new phone I should buy it when I get back to Oregon (no sales tax). Bruce traded in his ancient iPhone 6 for a new iPhone 14 Pro. We were at the Apple store for a couple of hours.
When we picked up my Tesla around 4:30, we went and supercharged for tomorrow and checked in to our
hotel in the bustling metropolis of Frisco, TX. We decided to stay here because there is a railroad
museum in Frisco that we intend to visit tomorrow.
Finally, at the end of the day, we had put in 244 miles.
