We passed by many Aspens.
Sometimes whole forests of them.
Most had not turned to fall colors, but some trees had patches that had begun to change.
Some of the evergreens had been attacked by bark beetles. We were told that they appear in a 15 to 18 year cycle. Generally they attack weak and dying trees and hasten their demise.
A large boulder fell onto the tracks. In the process of clearing the tracks, it was discovered that there was a lot of copper in the rocks.
In front of our tourist car was an open car that a number of people used for better sightseeing.
