Day 8, Sunday 4/8/23, Easter in the French Quarter

The car stayed in the garage today. We walked around the French Quarter.

We spent three hours on a walking food tour of the French Quarter. Here is a picture of the nine of us (less Bruce, taking the picture) plus our guide sitting in Jackson Square and a picture of the church across the street.

We stopped for beignets on the way back to our hotel. The line outside Cafe du Monde was about 30 people long so we went to a place called Cafe Beignet which is only a couple of blocks down the street from our hotel.

There were several parades featuring women in Easter Bonnets. I took a few pictures of one of them.

We hadn't made dinner reservations and the first two places we considered had long lines out the door. We ended up at Mr. B's Bistro (an offshoot from Brennan's I think). We only had to wait about half an hour for a table, Bruce had shrimp and grits. I had a wonderdful pasta with wild mushrooms and crabmeat.

On to day 9.
