We got into Nashville fairly late last night, so today was our day to sight-see. We had a good breakfast,
headed downtown to the Country Music Hall of Fame. On the way, we were impressed by the interesting
architecture of the downtown buildings. We went over to the Parthenon then back to our hotel to rest. At
3:00, we went to John & Becky Knowles's house, spent three hours visiting, then went to a nice Cajun
restaurant for dinner. We were joined at dinner by Sarah Jane Nelson and Michael, her significant other.
No map of our driving since it was just around town.
We went to breakfast at the Big Bad Breakfast restaurant. Bruce ordered some spicy bacon
to go with his biscuits and gravy. He says it was quite spicy. Dick had a breakfast burrito. Bruce liked
this picture of a chick within a chick. Looks like Dolly Parton to me.
We next went to the Country Music Hall of Fame. We were there for a couple of hours, saw a very interesting
video and looked at exhibits. If we had looked at every exhibit in detail, we would have needed several
more hours. Here are a few random pictures.
While we were downtown, we noticed some interesting architecture.
Next we visited the Parthenon. Bruce and Dick had each been to the one in Athens. The one in Nashville
is in better shape.
The Parthenon is in a rather nice park.
John Knowles is a Certified Guitar Player (CGP) bestowed by Chet Atkins, with whom he
collaborated for 40 years.
Dick has known John for 75 years as he lived across the street from Dick in Houston. John's son
Jay is an award winning songwriter. John explained how he and Jay wrote a song when Jay was four

Sarah Jane Nelson is a singer and actor that Dick met at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. John and
Sarah Jane are facebook friends but I don't think they had met in person. They are making plans to
spend more time together once they get rid of us west coasters. Here is the three of us.
We had a really nice dinner at "Voodoo Gumbo". Afterward we took a picture of the six of us:
Michael, Sarah Jane, John, Dick, Becky, and Bruce.
While we were taking pictures, someone took a good one of Dick and Bruce.
Finally, at the end of the day, we had put in 35 miles.
