We left our hotel around 7:30 in the morning. We drove for a couple of hours and then stopped at a McDonald's for breakfast. We stopped a couple of times to charge and were in our hotel in St. Louis by early afternoon. We discovered that the National Blues Museum is walking distance from here so we spent some time there. For dinner, we attempted to go to Pappy's Smokehouse for St. Louis ribs, but discovered after arriving that they closed at 4:00 (we weren't smart enough to look at their hours before we drove there).
After leaving Skokie, in the town of Niles, we saw a familiar sight. We wondered if we had gone through a wormhole.
At one of our charging stops, there was a huge sporting goods store named Scheels. There were some statues outside the store. Bruce took pictures of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.
Here is the view from our hotel window (15th floor). You can't see the arch from here. Rooms with an arch view were $19 per night more. We are only about four blocks from the park with the arch and have plans to go there tomorrow.
There weren't a lot of people at the Blues Museum. The gentleman who sold us our tickets was very friendly. He left his desk and took us to a player piano where he sat at it and played a song. Bruce took a movie but we don't have time tonight to prep it for the web page. Here is a picture of the piano and of the docent.
We took a lot of pictures at the museum. Here are a few of them.
Finally, at the end of the day, we had put in 331 miles.
