Day 7, Friday, 7/12/2024, Around Houston

Today we just bummed around Houston. I'm not going to bother to include a map. In the morning, Joanne, Kirsten, and we went to a very nice bagel place but I didn't take any pictures. In the later morning and early afternoon we went to an aviation museum on the way to Galveston. In the later afternoon, we had lunch at a nice burger place then went to the movies and saw "Fly Me to the Moon". It was a lot of fun. Having had a VIP tour of the Houston NASA facility on a previous adventure, we were aware that a number of things in the movie were fictional. We didn't need dinner so went sat around Kirsten's place, had some wine and cheese and had nice conversations.

Here is the outside of the museum.

One of the more interesting exhibits was a rather large military drone. We were told that it was only going to be there for a short time. There were a lot of folks in military garb around the museum. There were a number of folks carrying musical instruments. We sort of learned that some foreign dignitary was coming that afternoon for a visit. They were unwilling to tell us where the visitors were coming from. The sign describing the drone had a lot of text that was not in English.

There were lots of airplanes. I took pictures of a few of them. Here is an old bi-plane.

This is the "Flying Tiger", a small plane that set many records.

We got somebody to take a picture of the four of us at the museum

Finally, at the end of the day, we had put in 62 miles.

Back to day 6.

On to day 8.
