Back in April or early May, Bruce and Dick planned a Utah Canyons trip going to a bunch of National Parks and Monuments in Utah and Arizona. Elaine planned a trip to Hawaii to coincide with our being gone. On May 22, Dick took a fall at his Rotary meeting that did serious damage to his right knee. Dick needs Physical Therapy and recovery time, so we needed to stay closer to home. Bruce was still willing to come up while Elaine was in Hawaii, so we instead planned several nearby excursions which turned out to be surprisingly fun and educationally interesting.
